Meet The Team
Sara Walden
Sara is located near Richmond, Virginia. She completed her Master in Education from The George Washington University's School of Education in 2015 and her Reading Specialist endorsement from the University of Virginia's Curry School of Education in 2020. Sara is a licensed Virginia educator with training in dyslexia awareness and identification. Sara was an elementary school teacher for 5 years prior to starting this business. Beginning in Washington, DC public schools as a first grade teacher, Sara maintained a highly effective rating for three years. Upon moving to Richmond, Sara continued in the classroom as a first then third grade teacher. Although she loved being in the classroom, her true passion is reading remediation and building strong, confident readers. The most enjoyable part of Sara's work is seeing the transformation of frustration and confusion to laughter and curiosity.
Hannah McDonald
Hannah earned her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, her Master's degree in Education, and minor in special education at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has over 8 years of experience teaching second grade in Henrico County, Virginia. In that time she taught special education, gifted and English language learners. She is a licensed Virginia educator who has continuously received proficient and exemplary ratings, has been nominated as teacher of the year, and is trained in dyslexia awareness and identification. Hannah is a mother of two young children, loves being outside and has always wanted to be a teacher. Her passion and enthusiasm for reading has led her out of the classroom to pursue a focus on reading intervention. She believes that reading is the foundation to academic success and loves to facilitate the growth of young readers and writers.
